Sources

We rely mainly on primary sources: manufacturer statements, data from regulators and industry associations, company financial results and official spec sheets. Secondary sources, meaning trade media, are listed separately and marked in links as independent of us (rel nofollow).

Fact sheet

Under every article there is a table: what we claim, the value, the source and the as-of date. Figures supplied by a manufacturer are called manufacturer data or a claim, not the result of an independent measurement. When sources differ, we say so.

Dates and prices

Each article shows the event date and the publication date. Prices are quoted in the currency of the source. We do not mix currencies and we label whether a price applies to China or to a European market.

Footage and photos

In videos we use footage from the official channels of manufacturers and their subsidiaries. The on-screen caption says what is shown when the footage presents another model, an earlier version or an illustrative shot.

Corrections

When we correct an article, we update the last-modified date in the page data and in the markup for search engines.
