Event date: October 7, 2026 · Published: October 12, 2026

According to data from Germany's KBA, reported by electrive.net and Elektrowoz.pl, the Tesla Model Y was registered 8,038 times in Germany in September 2026. Elektrowoz.pl says it was the most registered car overall. The data cited by Electrive refers to the electric car ranking. It was the model's best month this year; the previous best was 6,841 units in March, while July saw only 299.

Second among electric cars was the Tesla Model 3 (4,512), and third the Skoda Elroq (4,128). A total of 88,599 electric passenger cars were registered, or 34.5 percent of new registrations.

Leapmotor

Leapmotor had 2,570 electric car registrations in September and ranked 10th among makers of such cars. According to electrive.net, five BEV models together account for the brand's 10th place in the EV brand ranking, and the new B03X appeared in registrations for the first time. The data covers fully electric cars only; the sources do not give the brand's total registrations including range-extender models.

Tesla's registration figures in September are strongly affected by the end of the quarter: electrive.net notes that the brand's numbers rise at the end of a quarter and fall at its start. A single month's result therefore does not indicate a lasting trend.
