Event date: October 10, 2026 · Published: October 12, 2026

According to CnEVPost, citing a CATL statement, Aito is to keep using CATL batteries across its entire lineup over the long term. CATL says Aito has used its cells in every model since the brand was launched, and cumulative vehicle deliveries have passed 1.2 million units. The length of the agreement was not disclosed.

The second phase of the "plant-in-plant" project, meaning CATL lines inside the Seres plant, is to have a capacity of 10 to 12 GWh per year. Together with the first phase, total annual capacity is to exceed 20 GWh. The first phase started on June 30, 2025 and includes two CTP 2.0 battery pack lines. The source does not give a start date for the second phase or the type of batteries it will produce.

The two companies also announced cooperation on ultra-fast charging networks and battery services across the full life cycle of the cells, as well as joint activities in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. No models or rollout plans were given for these regions, so it is not yet clear what the deal means for Aito's lineup in Europe.
