On October 8, 2026, BYD revealed the interior of the third-generation Tang. According to CnEVPost, the SUV debuted at the Chengdu auto show on August 21, and sales in China are due to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Tang is a five-seat SUV meant to form a pair of flagships with the larger Da Tang (Great Tang) from the 9 series, on sale since June.
Two large screens instead of gauges
The dashboard has two screens: a 35.4-inch integrated display and a 30-inch panoramic screen. According to CnEVPost, they replace the traditional gauges and the head-up display. The interior comes in two colors, Dune Beige and Amber Brown, and BYD says second-row legroom exceeds 1,000 mm. The information comes from Lu Tian, head of BYD's Dynasty series.
The car is 5,045 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Range in the Chinese CLTC cycle is up to 850 km. Electrek gives three figures, 730, 830 and 850 km, and two batteries, 88.682 and 105.792 kWh; CnEVPost does not list the capacity. BYD claims charging from 10 to 70 percent in about 5 minutes thanks to the second-generation Blade battery.
Price and Europe
BYD has not yet announced a price for the new Tang. Electrek notes that the larger Da Tang starts at 239,900 yuan and that the Tang will probably be cheaper, but that is the outlet's assumption. None of the sources mentions sales outside China, so nothing is known about the model coming to Europe.
