Xiaomi Sky Nomad: over 70,000 orders

About this video

More than 70,000 orders in a month. That is how many Xiaomi says the Sky Nomad, its new hybrid SUV, has collected. These are locked-in orders, not deliveries. In September alone, customers took delivery of more than 10,000 cars. In China the Sky Nomad starts at 209,900 yuan. That is a price for the Chinese market only. Combined range is up to 1,705 kilometers, but under China's CLTC cycle. Why a hybrid? Xiaomi's boss, Lei Jun, believes a large all-electric SUV would need too big a battery. The catch: to hit its annual target of 550 thousand cars, Xiaomi has to deliver almost 88 thousand cars a month. For now the Sky Nomad is for China only. Xiaomi enters Europe in 2027, but with no models or prices.
