Chery Stockman: a diesel plug-in pickup
About this video
476 horsepower and 800 newton-meters. In a pickup with a diesel and a plug. This is the Chery Stockman: a 2.5-liter diesel, an electric motor and a 34 kilowatt-hour battery. All-wheel drive. The diesel alone makes only 140 kilowatts, electricity adds the rest. On battery alone it goes up to 96 kilometers in the WLTC cycle. With a braked trailer it can tow up to 3,495 kilograms, and it has three differential locks. The first cars reach customers in Australia on February 1, 2027. No price yet. Why a diesel? Pickups rule in Australia, and the emissions limit for light commercial vehicles fell by 14 percent this year. The BYD Shark and the plug-in Ford Ranger run on gasoline. The catch: the car shown is a show concept, and Chery has not announced plans for Europe or Poland.
