Xiaomi YU7 GT on the Nordschleife: 7:22 with a driver, 10:29 with nobody inside

7 minutes and 22 seconds on the Nordschleife. That's what the Xiaomi YU7 GT needed, with a driver at the wheel. Almost 14 seconds quicker than the combustion Audi, until then the fastest SUV. On the straight: 299 km/h. Two months later the car went out again. With nobody inside: 10 minutes and 29 seconds. The track added a new record category: autonomous driving. 1,003 horsepower. In China from 389,900 yuan. Why? Xiaomi wants to enter Europe in 2027. In September it signed preliminary agreements with eight dealer groups in Germany. The catch: it's the only car in both categories, and the computer was more than three minutes slower than the human.
